Los Angeles/Hamburg – Die Muskeln von “John Carter” wirken gegen Monster auf dem Mars, dem “Lorax” aber k?nnen sie nichts anhaben. Die kleine orangefarbene Kreatur dominierte in der zweiten Woche erneut die nordamerikanischen Kinos und setzte sich gegen den neu angelaufenen Science-Fiction-Film “John Carter – Zwischen zwei Welten” durch.

Nach Angaben des “Hollywood Reporters” spielte “Der Lorax”, gesprochen von Danny DeVito, in den amerikanischen und kanadischen Kinos gut 39,1 Millionen Dollar (29,7 Millionen Euro) ein – nach einem Traumstart in seiner ersten Woche mit 70,7 Millionen Dollar.

“John Carter” musste sich mit 30,6 Millionen Dollar und dem zweiten Platz zufriedengeben. In dem Action-Film k?mpft Taylor Kitsch als John Carter auf dem Mars gegen Ungetüme und besteht wie der Lorax seine Abenteuer in 3D. Statt im US-Bürgerkrieg landet Soldat John Carter pl?tzlich auf dem Wüstenplaneten Mars. Dort erlangt der Krieger übermenschliche Kr?fte und ger?t zwischen die Fronten der verfeindeten Marsv?lker. W?hrend “John Carter” bereits in deutschen Kinos angelaufen ist, müssen sich Kinog?nger auf den “Lorax” noch bis zum 19. Juli gedulden.

Die High-School-Klamotte “Project X” um eine Gruppe Jugendlicher, deren Party au?er Kontrolle ger?t, lockte auch in seiner zweiten Woche genug Zuschauer ins Kino, um mit 11,6 Millionen Dollar Einnahmen auf dem dritten Platz zu landen. Horror-Fans sicherten “Silent House” Rang vier. Dass der Schocker mit Elizabeth Olsen als Neueinstieg nur knapp über 7 Millionen Dollar kassierte, zeugt jedoch von einem schwachen Start. Der Army-Film “Act of Valor”, in seiner ersten Woche der Sieger, wurde in seiner dritten Woche mit geringem Abstand bereits auf Platz fünf verwiesen.

Noch schlechter traf es allerdings Eddie Murphy. Seine Kom?die “Noch tausend Worte” landete mit 6,4 Millionen Dollar auf Position sechs. Der Film, in dem Murphy als geschw?tziger Jack nur tausend Worte zur Verfügung hat, bevor er stirbt, soll am 28. Juni in Deutschland anlaufen. Der Agentenfilm “Safe House” mit Denzel Washington rutschte mit 5 Millionen Dollar vom vierten auf den siebten Platz ab.

Sozialhelden schlagen “Harry Potter”

In Deutschland ist zum neunten Mal in Folge der franz?sische Kassenschlager “Ziemlich beste Freunde” der meistgesehene Film am Wochenende. Der überraschungshit lockte 336.000 Besucher in die deutschen Kinos?le, wie der Branchendienst “Media Control” am Montag mitteilte. Insgesamt wurden damit rund 6,5 Millionen Karten verkauft. Die Sozialkom?die überflügelt nun sogar “Harry Potter und die Heiligtümer des Todes – Teil 2″, den mit 6,44 Millionen Zuschauern beliebtesten Kinofilm des vergangenen Jahres.

Rund 221.000 Tickets wurden nach vorl?ufigen Angaben am Startwochenende für “John Carter – Zwischen zwei Welten” gel?st. Wie in den USA steigt die Disney-Produktion zum Kinostart damit auch hierzulande auf Rang zwei ein.

Als Klatschreporter Paul Jensen wird er in Moskau erst Zeuge eines Mordes und dann Terrorverd?chtiger. Wie er aus dieser misslichen Lage wieder herauskommt, wollten zwischen Donnerstag und Sonntag rund 46.000 Zuschauer wissen. Der Politthriller von Dennis Gansel startet auf Position neun.

Den Sprung in die Top Ten verpassen hingegen die Berlinale-Beitr?ge “Haywire” von US-Regisseur Steven Soderbergh und “Barbara”, für den der Filmemacher Christian Petzold bei dem Festival mit dem Silbernen B?ren ausgezeichnet wurde. Das Drama über die ?rztin Barbara (Nina Hoss), die sich w?hrend ihrer Fluchtvorbereitungen aus der DDR zwischen zwei M?nnern entscheiden muss, sahen 40.000 Menschen. Damit gelang dem Regisseur laut “Blickpunkt:Film” der mit Abstand beste Kinostart eines Petzold-Films bislang. Für Steven Soderberghs Action-Thriller mit Ewan McGregor, Antonio Banderas und Michael Douglas interessierten sich 37.000 Kinog?nger.

As I lay comfortably with my feet propped up, my husband lovingly glanced down at my stomach which was growing larger by the day with our first child inside. Joe read to our not yet born child from the children’s book about all the things that they would one day do together and explore and the bonding process began.

Many expectant parents anticipate the activities that they will do with their child once they are grown up a bit, whether it is to teach them make their great-grandmother’s recipe for apple pie or to perfect their golf swing on their favorite course. Bonding can certainly begin after birth as well as happens so often with the blessing of adoption. Others start the bond prior to the child even being born. Travel with me back in time to May 21, 1967, the year a great performer named Chris Benoit was born. Now lets travel 18 years in the future to the year 1985. In 1985 Benoit began his training to become a pro but lifting waits that is father bought for him. 1985 began an almost 22 year career of a great wrestler. His great career had been spent in great promotions such as Stampede Wrestling, New Japan Pro wrestling (NJPW), Extreme Championship wrestling (ECW), World Championship Wrestling (WCW), World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment (WWF/E), and a few minor Indy promotions. Now travel with me to November 22, 1985 were he had his first match for with Stampede Wrestling. Now we move on to the year 1986 because this is the year he started working for NJPW.

In August 1990 Chris Benoit won his first ever championship the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship from Jushin Liger but would go on to lose the title to the same Jushin Liger in November. When Benoit won this title he was a masked wrestler known as The Pegasus Kid. He would lose his right to were his mask November 1991 to Jushin. After the loss of his mask he renamed himself Wild Pegasus and went on to win the Super J Cup in the year 1994 beating Black Tiger, Gedo, and Great Sasuke.

Now we travel to the year 1992 were Benoit began his first run in WCW. Chris Benoit first debut with WCW some time in June 1992. upon his debut he teamed with fellow Canadian Biff Wellington. They lost in a tag tournament in round one to Brian Pillman and Jushin Liger. In January of 1993 he returned to WCW. He lost one match to 2 Cold Scorpio with three seconds left of the twenty Minuit time limit.

In 1994 Benoit would begin working for ECW. The true start to the “Crippler” name was when he put Rocco Rock out of action. At the ECW November to Remember Pay Per View Benoit went on to Break Sabu’s neck on accident when he went to do a face first slam that Sabu blotched the move.

Benoit won his first ever American wrestling title in 1995, this title being the ECW Tag Team Championship. He won this title with Dean Malenko February of 1995 from Sabu and The Tazmaniac (Taz,Tazz). Benoit and Malenko would go on to lose the titles to The Public Enemy at ECW Three Way Dance. After this he went back to feuding with 2 Cold Scorpion.

NJPW and WCW was having a “Talent Exchange” and that is when Benoit began working for WCW once again. Benoit was placed in the Kevin Sullivan feud after Pillman left for WWF/E leaving Sullivan needing someone to continue the feud with.

Adding to the story WCW had Benoit have an on-screen affair with Sullivan’s Wife and Valet Nancy (Woman). To make the story look real WCW had it were Benoit and Nancy would share Hotel rooms, Hold hands in public and stuff like that.

The story then went beyond Kayfabe and turned into a real-life affair.

The last match of the Benoit/Sullivan feud was at Bash at the Beach in a retirement match that Sullivan lost.

In 1998 Benoit had a feud with Booker T for the WCW World Television Championship. This was until Fit Finley won the title. After that Benoit And Booker T had a best of 7 series to be the Number one contender for the title. Benoit went up to 3-1 in it but Booker caught up leading to match seven at Monday Nitro. In that match Bret Hart Interjected himself into the match and interfered to help Benoit win. Benoit did not want the win to be like that and told the referee what went on and he got disqualified.

In 2000 Benoit first won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship from Sid at souled out but due to Sullivan being made head booker he left the company the next day.

In 2000 at fully loaded and Unforgiven it appeared Benoit won the WWF title but both times the decision would be reversed by Commissioner Foley.

In 2001 Benoit teamed with his former rival Chris Jericho to win the WWF Tag titles from Triple H and Stone Cold Steve Austin. During the Title run Benoit suffered a neck injury during a four team Tables, Ladders, and Chairs (TLC) match. He had to have surgery but still went on to compete at the 2001 King of the Ring PPV.

Benoit was drafted to Smackdown and on his return he became a Heel and teamed with his long time friend Eddie Guerrero.

In one story WWF had an “open contract” where Raw superstars could wrestle on Smackdown and Smackdown superstars could compete on Raw. During this Benoit beat RVD to win the Intercontinental Championship again and then joined Raw with the belt.

In 2004 when Benoit won the Royal rumble he went on to be the second person in WWE history to win from the number one entrance. At Wrestlemania twenty Benoit would go on to win a triple threat match also including Triple H(champion) and Shawn Michaels to become the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Now lets travel forward to the year 2007 and the WWE draft. In 2007 at the draft Benoit lost a match to the then ECW Champion Bobby Lashley and was drafted to ECW.

At the WWE Vengeance: Night of Champions PPV Benoit was set to win the ECW title but he missed a house show and told WWE officials he missed it because is wife and son was vomiting blood due to food poisoning. And then told them he will have to miss the PPV because of a family emergency.

On June 27th Nancy, Daniel, and Chris Benoit were found dead.

After all signs pointed to a double murder-suicide WWE stopped selling all Chris Benoit Merchandise.

On July 17th Toxicology reports were released and they showed Nancy had three different drugs in her system, they were Xanax, Hydrocodon, and Hydromorphone.

Alabama is arguably the best college football program in history. With a bunch of national titles & also a bunch of wins how can you argue? Also, a long lists of storied & amazing coaches on top of that. This college football giant is an empire. From the early years to the present you can’t ignore a true powerhouse.

Certainly, one of the greatest football coaches of all-time. Not only college football but any level of football. A true coach & man that put a stamp on the Alabama football program. He brought the program out of the ditches & into the spotlight. He lead them to the top. He lead his players to the pinnacle. This coach was a winner in all aspects. From his initial hiring to the day he left the program this guy was what any football program was hoping & asking for. From the late 1950’s to the early 1980’s this coach showed how to play the game. And, he did it very well and made changes in football history.

Two well known guys here as well in the coaching industry and still making history. 7 years split between these two coaches at Alabama. 4 year for Ray Perkins & 3 years for Bill Curry. Perkins time was cut short due to a sop in the NFL. One he made on his own. Curry left due to the turmoil in getting along with the staff in the athletic office. It was no secret that he wasn’t happy about what was going on behind the scenes.

Gene Stallings was the man called on during this time-frame. He went 62-25 during his reign at Alabama. He took the team to 6 straight bowl games under his tenure including an SEC title in 1992. All this sounds good but the program was placed on probation following an incident in 1993 involving one of his players. This lead to the football program being forced to give up 8 wins from the 1993 season. This coach still proved of his worth during his 6 seasons & Alabama.

This was a whirlwind type time for the Alabama football program like a twist of faith. A total of 3(4 if you count Mike Price short tenure) coaches in a span of 10 years. This may not seem like a big deal in today’s times but this is Alabama we’re talking about here. From Mike DuBose to Dennis Franchione to Mike Shula. A quick jump between these coaches over this time period. DuBose had early success but failed later on. Franchione has great success but left for another football program. Shula also had solid notable success but struggled in his final campaign before being fired. What an absolute fabulous coaching job in this short time period by Nick Sabin. Already garnering a national championship(2010). Winning 2 SEC football titles as well. All of this coming from one of the best current college football coaches. You’d have to say more winning is in the future of Alabama football with this guy at the controls.
